Ahem, ranting finished. I promise.
I find I'm saying 'Good grief!' a lot of late. This is Charlie Brown's fault, and for some reason I feel obliged to show the world some of what is probably the most tatty looking collection of Peanuts books out there:

The earliest copyright date appears to be about 1955, but I think they were mostly printed in the 60's and 70's. And yes, I know, some of them do look as though they have perhaps been chewed by what one can only hope was at least a vaguely domesticated animal. I picked them all up from the Lifeline Bookfest at the beginning of the year for about $5, and I'll be going back midyear for more! I also have collection of Wizard of Id books in similar format (and condition). You can probably tell that I'm not really the sort of person who is into flashy giant hardcover collector's editions.
At the moment I'm discovering all sorts of interesting things about the wonderful world of handsewing. For example, did you know that if you mange to punch a hole in the pencil bump of your finger with the blunt end of a thick needle despite the fact you will have a rather alarmingly large hole in your finger there won't be a lot of blood, but you probably won't be able to write very well for a couple of days. It's important to learn something new everyday and the best way to learn is by doing! Maybe tomorrow I'll endeavour to learn something about chainsaws... ok, maybe not, but I do have a two hour advanced statistics lecture in the afternoon which should be AT LEAST as painful as the whole 'needle-finger-hole-ouch' incident. Oh, and please, nobody ask me to explain how I managed to jab myself hard enough with the blunt end of a needle to penetrate the skin... I don't quite understand how I achieved it myself.

Ouch! I hope your finger feels better soon.
I accidentally stapled the tip of my finger once, and while it didn't bleed at all, it was mighty sore for a few days. I empathize!
You learn something new everyday. I did not know that - and I think I'll take your word on it.
I am so beatin' you to the Peanuts books next Lifeline Bookfest. I'll be setting my alarm extra early. So there! Nah!
